In his WC testimony, Arnold Rowland made some pretty
bold claims about himself: 147 IQ, 20/20 vision.
A-average report cards. Special knowledge of sound
and echoes based on personal research. Enough that
the WC had the FBI run a background investigation
to find out if any of it were true.

The results run about three dozen pages. Makes for
some interesting reading, and can be found here:

Very interesting. I have to admit, I didn't know the Archives had
these things online -- mostly I guess because I depend on the Mary
Ferrell Archive, which usually has whatever I need.

I've dismissed Rowland not because I know about his character, but
because his account is "out there," not fitting any plausible scenario
and not corroborated by anybody.

Note that the report on him was apparently made out by Forrest Sorrels, if
Hank doesn't mind my saying that.

This is my favorite bit:

"Mr. LIGON gave as an example an incident that occurred
while ROWLAND was attending Adamson High School. ROWLAND
drove a Volkswagen automobile to school and on occasion
parked in the teacher's parking area. This Volkswagen was
repossessed by a finance company one afternoon during
school hours and after ROWLAND reported to Mr. LIGON that
his car had been stolen. He asked Mr. LIGON what action
he was going to take regarding the theft and Mr. LIGON
advised him that since it was his (ROWLAND's) car he
should report it to the police and that he was welcome
to use the school telephone to make this report. Mr.
LIGON stated the thought the conversation was very short
for an such an incident and, therefore, called the Dallas
Police Department Auto Theft Bureau and asked if they had
received a report from anyone at Adamson High School
reporting the theft of a vehicle. Mr. LIGON stated he was
advised that the Police Department was aware that a
finance company in Dallas was repossessing a Volkswagen
from this school's parking lotbut that there was no theft
and they had received to calls from ARNOLD LOUIS ROWLAND
or anyone else at the school regarding the Volkswagen."

My favorite is that he rented a new p.o. box on the day before the
assassination. And that he photographed strange things.

Who said what? Can you quote your source?
What do you think it would mean?
You think people have a choice of which box they rent?
Please keep working on this and develop an elaborate theory about
secret codes using the numbers.

I could show you his red shirt, and you would not be able to see it.

I agree! Of course, yes, I realize that my saying that is ironic--my
account is kinda "out there", too, but not because I want to be
persnickety....
