To judge by the FBI documents, Silvia Odio and her Incident first came to
the attention of the Bureau when Mrs. Connell reported a telephone
conversation between herself and Odio in which Odio said she knew Oswald
and described him as "brilliant," and as a motivational speaker to Cuban
exiles, which would have to be Anti-Castros. Of course, this story would
change to the one which has been endlessly bandied about which involves a
silent "Leon" Oswald and two mysterious Cuban friends. Maybe the first
story is true and the second is a BS snow job.

The first Odio story would have Oswald speaking Spanish very well in order
for his "brilliance" to be appreciated by the Cubans. The second story
practically says that Oswald cannot speak Spanish at all. Perhaps this is
related the the FBI attempt to convince Delgado that he, Delgado, could
not speak Spanish. The FBI might not want us to credit the first Odio
story, so perhaps their hidden hand is painting Oswald as
Spanish-illiterate, which would imply that he actually was an excellent
Spanish speaker. Whoops! I used an indefinite possessive pronoun there.
That will confuse the Nutters terribly. Oh well, what's done is done.

So either Odio has changed her story, or Connell was rather confused.

I'll go with the latter.

Rather confused, indeed. But since we know that Odio is loony, and we have
no such information on Connell, I think we'll just have to agree to
disagree on that point.
