""Groden in his new 'Absolute Proof' has done THE BEST photo analysis of the JFK assassination..." ~ Oliver Stone

As most of you know, 2013 is the 50th anniversary of the assassination of president Kennedy. Robert Groden's work has been instrumental in shining a light on this seminal American Tragedy. Groden released the “Zapruder Film” on Geraldo Rivera's show and was instrumental in getting the investigation reopened by US Congress's House Select Committee on Assassinations – who (many don't know this) found that there WAS a conspiracy. Groden, a NYT best-selling writer, has written numerous books on the assassination and is recognized as a leading authority. He even served as consultant on Oliver Stone's epic film, JFK.

"JFK Absolute Proof" by Robert Groden is a 350-page, hardback, coffee table book featuring over 1,000 photos.

NEVER B4 SEEN: 1) photos of Oswald on the operating table, 2) the 'smoking gun memo' between James Rowley (chief US Secret Service) and John McCone (director CIA) and much more.

$75 each (Signed by Groden) - treat the conspiracy buff in your family (heck, it'd even make a great Christmas present).

Again, available only at Prosperos Uptown!"

Thanks for that.I believe this book has been in the offing for, what, six or
seven years? Nobody could tell me why it was delayed or what the "absolute
proof" was. McCone-Rowley memo "never before seen"? It's about the same as
Oswald was. Still , the book might be worth it for the photos , if not the
text.

I doubt it. People have had enough of Groden photos. That want to know
what Geneva Hines said during the shooting.

I spoke to him in Dealey Plaza some five years ago and he flashed me some unusual photos that he said would be in his next book. One was a naked JFK on his back; I wondered if it wasn't the dummy used in "JFK." The other was a BOH shot with a large blowout in the rear, which he claimed was genuine. I vaguely recall it looking like some of the drawings in TKOAP that were supposed to show what the Parkland witnesses saw. I asked if he was sure the photos were authentic, and he assured me they were.

It was a friendly, casual chat. I didn't let on that I was an LN. I bought one of his DVDs. I'd be interested in the new book for a reasonable price. I wonder if any new "revelations" from Mike Brownlow will be in there.

I just found out that in this new book apparently he is making the
following claim (which is supposedly from an interview on blackopradio.com
from Sept 2009:

I actually found a woman some years ago. She was terrified. She did
not want to come forward. And she finally agreed to give an interview, and
I did interview her. When the shots actually went off, she was talking to
Lee Oswald on the second floor. We always assumed that Lee had the change,
that he had had the change for the machine. He didn’t. He went into the
office across from the snack room with a dollar bill and asked for change.
He said, “No pennies, please.” And, as the change was being counted
out into his hand, the shots went off. And they looked at each other, this
woman and Lee, and [asked], “What was that?” Backfires,
firecrack[ers], who knew?

He got the rest of the change, walked back across the hall, bought the
Coke and then just a little over a minute later there was a gun in his
ribs held by Officer Baker. Lee had an airtight alibi. He could not
possibly have done this. She told this story to the Warren Commission.
They told her to keep her mouth shut. And she did. She told very few
people. Very few people. I was one of the few that she did. So I got to
speak to her because I had a friend who knew a friend of hers. I had to
promise her I would never reveal any of this until after she was gone. And
now she is. The whole story, including her name, will be in the next book.

But in the blurbs for the book, they don't even mention this. So I wonder
if the above story is even in the book. Anybody know??? I mean, if this
is true and Groden actually got this woman on video testifying to being
with Oswald when the shots rang out, this would be one of the most
incredible stories of the assassination in the last 50 years!

Ahhh those late blooming lilies of the field! She is about 50 years too
late to help exonerate an innocent man. Why did she not go immediately to
the Chief of Police or County Sheriff headquarters right across the street
from the TSBD upon learning LHO had been arrested? That's what a good
citizen and coworker would do. Why wait for the Warren Commission to
relay this vital information? If true she is responsible for the wrongful
incarceration and death of this innocent man. Yes we need to know the
name of this concerned witness, the woman who let LHO stay in jail for the
death of the POTUS, which distracted the investigation by the FBI and SS
as well as local law enforcement like the Dallas County District Attorney.
All barking up the wrong tree because of her. LHO was going to get the
death penalty anyway for the murder of a DPD Officer but it sure would
help national authorities to continue the investigation of who really shot
the President. She let down LHO, the City of Dallas, the DPD, DCSD, FBI,
US Attorneys office, the Oswald family, the Kennedy family, and her fellow
citizens. Not a very inspiring story.

It's quite possible that she tried to come forward but was then
intimidated and told to keep quiet. This happened to others such as
Aquilla Clemmons in the Tippit shooting incident. Even honest people can
sometimes frightened into silence, especially in a very dramatic situation
like this.

I seriously doubt that Groden himself said that about the McCone-Rowley
memo. I think someone who knows absolutely nothing about this case just
hypes it to impress people. We had discussed the memo several years ago
and I was particularly annoyed that the hoaxer had chosen a memo I
found to create the forgery.

I doubt that it is in the book because the actual details are slightly
different.

BTW, videotaping someone's recollections is not testifying.

I know, but Groden has probably the biggest private collection of photos
related to the assassination and as crazy as the text and theories of his
previous books were, the reproduction and quality of the many printed
photos was almost always excellent. What I've been wondering for a while
is whether Groden actually has the rights to publish all these photos.

That is a very good question. He started his career as a celebrity by purloining private property and self promoting himself as a whistle blower. In other words he was a common thief who used stolen property for self aggrandizement. He made a career from this sleazy beginning until slipping on the banana peel of his own incompetence.

Now he is setup on public property in the middle of a designated National Historic Landmark District to peddle his wares. He uses the wooden fence as a billboard to hang banners promoting his stuff. I wonder if he pays any sales tax on his books and videos and is there any compensation whatsoever by him to taxpayers of the City, County, State, and US taxpayers for maintaining his office space on the mall?

No it's not. Groden stole private property and profited from this theft.
He built a career on this unlawful act. Groden has a big investment in
conspiracy theories about this case. Without conspiracy what will he do
to make a living? He has to have a conspiracy going on to attract
attention. He needs naive tourists to sell his discredited theories to.

A perfect example is Groden's recent conversion on the GK sniper nonsense.
He finally ditched that silliness for a new location, the Dal-Tex
Building. With a new theory he's back in business. His new deal is two
shots fired from 2nd or 3rd stories of this building. At least this new
theory has possibilities. It was the best location for a professional
sniper, unlike the GK. Jim Braden was seen in and around the building at
the time. Not sure if Groden incorporates the James Files story or not.

I'll leave it up to the courts to decide whether or not RG has the right
to peddle his stuff in Dealey Plaza. And while I respect is ability to
fanagle his way on to various TV shows and blow smoke at a publisher or
two, I do not now, nor have I ever, agreed with his conclusions. Mr. G is
the perfect example of a conspiracy theorist who can add two plus two and
get a bushel of potatoes. Why anyone halfway knowledgeable about this
event would spend $75 on his trash is beyond me, though I'm sure some
will. Let the buyer beware.

I think "Absolute Spoof" would be a more accurate title for this book, or perhaps "Absolute Poof". Proof is not something Groden has had much luck with through the years. He's not familiar with the concept.

Either would be appropriate titles, Claviger. I guess when you make your
living selling myth and junk, you must continue to be creative. And people
wonder why there is still a debate about the assassination 50 years later.

Despite his mistakes, Robert Groden has done more than most people to
keep this case alive and he has always been an inspiration to other
researchers.
Do you really think we could have made such progress if no one ever saw
the Zapruder film or the autopsy photos.

Don't waste your money. Groden couldn't identify O J Simpson or his Bruno
Magli shoes in a photograph.
He started his career as a celebrity by
purloining private property and self promoting himself as a whistle
blower. In other words he was a common thief who used stolen
property for self aggrandizement. He made a career from this sleazy
beginning until slipping on the banana peel of his own incompetence.
Then it's always common thieves who uncover the truth.

Thank you Tony, the man is a patriot. And yes, the Geraldine Reid

Agreed...I was glad they had all the peddlers like Groden move a few
blocks away when they held the ceremonies in Dealey Plaza on the 50th. I
also didn't mind hearing about them paving over Groden's X's in the

I'd read a while back that the Xs were not in the correct spot. If that's
true, there's a good chance they were Groden's.

A few years ago I accidentally stumbled upon Groden's Achilles Heel by
telling him I'd get his book (The Search For Lee Harvey Oswald) at the
library. His jaw dropped like a Mike Tyson punch. I later did check it out
of the library & scanned the photos. Cost invested = $0.00

I doubt an average citizen could set up a flea market, paint mark an
active street & hang banners like he does without some city palms being
greased.

Public business from the grassy knoll is not always a bowl of cherries for
Groden because the souvenir venders wearing the aprons aggressively
compete with him for income (the ones selling the 5 dollar print
material). To keep up with him they have to sell two items at 5 bucks for
each item Groden sells for 10 bucks. Those are the ones that pounce on
visitors before they have even gotten their cars parked, shove JFK autopsy
photos in your face & follow visitors around interfering with photo &
video attempts. The worst ones will feel a person out before pitching for
a 'friend' that can get an interested person anything from drugs, weapons,
hooker, laptops, cell phones, computer goods, cars, houses, jewelry & more
than I care to list at the moment).

Best thing to do is visit the place on a weekend and ask Groden a
question. He'll probably hold up one of his for sale items & tell you the
answer is in it. Then, smile at him & tell him you'll go check it out for
free at the library.

As for anything his sidekick tells you, remember what he says & then walk
over to the spot in the Altgens photo he claims to be him & take at look
at Elm Street from there. Notice the street disappears after the drop
around the mouth of the reflecting pool.

What Groden did in the past to get the Zapruder film on TV does not give
him the right to hustle global visitors to Dealey Plaza & help turn the
place into a cesspool. Besides, it was Geraldo Rivera that was responsible
for the airing of the Zapruder film, not Groden. Rivera put his entire
career on the line to air that particular program & was threatened with a
lawsuit the network refuse to back him up on.

probably the best way to see Dealey Plaza today is to take the trolley
tour. Visitors won't have to deal with hustlers & hawkers at the site &
the trolley makes several stops so photos & video can be taken.

Both Rivera AND Groden deserve a lot of credit for airing the film.
Ultimately, though, it was Jim Garrison who let the genie out of the
bottle when he subpoenaed the film for the Shaw trial, had copies made and
started circulating them.

"Absolute Proof" written by an absolute goof. In that trial Groden made an incredible blunder and was unmasked as a charlatan. His career as a con-artist continues in the flea market he's turned Dealey Plaza into. This is his fantasy world where he is the center of attention as guru to the gullible. It's all about him, not JFK.

I can't believe Tom Brokaw actually gave him air time on his JFK show.
Maybe he was trying to show the screwballs for what they are. If that is
the case, he couldn't have picked a better example.
