MOST OF YOU know by now about Russia hacking us - Don't tell Trump.
But are any of you old enough to remember when the US and Russia were
enemies?
One forgotten legacy could be extremely dangerous today:

SCI

During the Cold War the US placed nulear landmines on the border betwtween
East Germany and West Germany to twart a Russian invasion. After the
collapse of Russia, East Germay and West Germany combined into just
Germany. No more danger, right?

Well, Somewhere deep in our files there is a list of the locations of our
Nuclear landmines. If Russia stumbles onto it, they could set them off
deep inside Germany and say that Germany accidentally set them off
themselves.

My confidential source says that the the Brits thought this up but that
chickens never hatched.

The mainstream media was very upset when Trump fired the CIA head of cyber security.

The Russians came close to firing a nuclear torpedo during the Cuban
missile crisis...

Castro wanted the Soviets to fire the nukes that were operational but
fortunately they chose not to. They had a lot more to lose than Castro.

The closest we came to a nuclear exchange occurred in the early 1980s.
Reagan already had the Soviets on edge. A NATO exercise triggered a false
alarm that NATO forces were preparing to invade the Soviet Bloc. A
mid-level officer had to make the call on whether to fire their tactical
nukes. Fortunately for the world, he made the right call and held his
fire.

Vice channel included a little bit about this in a special this weekend.
And they oointed out that the crisis started because the US put nuclear
missiles in Italy then Russia retaliated by putting nuclear missiles in
Cuba.
