We are all off-topic right now

I'm sure Marsh and Harris and the poster who goes by the Delta Airline
seat number from hell, 19efppp, will join me in this.

I want to express my appreciation to the moderator for allowing us to
post so much about the election.

I think John realizes it's THE topic on everyone's mind right now, and
that he's going to allow us to be off-topic for a little while.

Better get it in while you can, because it may not last. Mark

Yes, thanks to John for allowing this venting.

We need to move on - as a country and topically - and the sooner the
better.

As to the assassination: I finished up "Operation Solo", the book about
the Childs brothers. Morris Childs was a serious person engaged in very
dangerous work. His claim that Castro told him Oswald threatened JFK when
he was at the Cuban consulate at Mexico City is very credible. I can't see
how he would make that up.

Maybe Castro was just making it up. But I don't think Childs would.

It's ironic , I think, that Childs was awarded by the Soviets one of their
top honors - the Order of the Red Banner (the Order of Lenin was the
highest) - and in 1985 Reagan gave him one of the US's top civilian honors
- a Presidential Medal of Freedom. There's a movie to be made about him.

Somebody made it up because there was no way Oswald could have possibly
known at the time he went to Mexico City that random chance would hand him
the opportunity to assassinate JFK.

Oswald didn't say "I'm going to kill JFK in Dallas as he rides by the
building where I work." Morris said Castro told him:

"First of all, nobody ever goes that way for a visa. Second, it costs
money to go that distance. He [Oswald] stormed into the embassy, demanded
the visa, and when it was refused to him, headed out saying
‘I’m going to kill Kennedy for
this.’…..What is your government doing to catch the other
assassins? It took about three people.”

It was a general threat; not a specific one. According to both the Cubans
and the Soviets, Oswald was acting hysterically and was very distraught
and upset over not getting his way. According to the Soviets he pulled a
revolver out and said he needed it to protect himself from the "notorious
FBI." Why wouldn't he in that condition make some wild-eyed threat against
Kennedy? It makes sense to me.

Oswald might have said this or something similar. He might not have.
Some of what Castro said was sheer speculation. it's possible he was also
passing on a rumor that he believed to be a fact. We will never know.

The story is not credible for reasons already stated. How would Oswald go
about shooting JFK. Was he planning to ride a bus to Washington? Did he
know JFK was coming to Dallas? Was he planning to shoot JFK somewhere
else?

The killing of JFK was a crime of opportunity. Had JFK not come to Dallas
and had his motorcade routed right past Oswald's workplace, I doubt the
idea of shooting JFK would ever have crossed his mind. If it did cross his
mind, why would he tell anyone what he was planning? It just doesn't add
up.

It has gotten to the point where everything related to the JFK
assassination has been covered umpteen times. Don Willis goofy theory of
Oswald shooting from the fifth floor was almost a refreshing change. At
least it was a new theory even if absurd. It didn't take long for us to
beat that one to death too. Even threads that start out on topic have a
way of creeping into other areas.

We need Oliver Stone to make a new JFK movie or David Lifton to write a
new book just to give us something new to talk about. The sillier the
better.

Rewriting history here, eh? I'm afraid the fifth floor beat *you* to death:

"John Corbett finally, if unwittingly, waved the white flag on July 21st.
Backed into a corner when asked, "How wide did Jackson show that the
window was open?", Corbett was forced to reply, "I don't give a shit how
wide open the window was." (alt.assassination.jfk 7/21/20) He could not
answer me. For that answer would have suggested that there was in fact
"shooting from the fifth floor". Why else would he not wanted to answer?
His feisty reply was intended, apparently, to cover up his embarrassment
when so cornered....

Better get it in while you can, because it may not last. Mark
His feisty reply was intended, apparently, to cover up his
embarrassment
when so cornered....
Do you think you are convincing anybody with your nonsense.
PS. I still don't give a shit how wide open the window was. It doesn't
prove anything.
OH, so you think the shooter could fire through a window only
opened 1 inch. Please demonstrate that for us.
I did nnot offer a theory.
You never do. It's all just fantasy with you.
I was using sarcasm to point out how silly

the idea was. I know from the acoustics tha 3 shots were fired from
the siper's nest and we can see that the window was open about a foot.

Your theory. Your burden, Tony.
As always, you'll duck, whine, and cover.
As usual, you make up a straw man argument and pretend that I believe it.
Are you HONESTLY this clueless, Tony?

I'm sure Marsh and Harris and the poster who goes by the Delta Airline
seat number from hell, 19efppp, will join me in this.
I want to express my appreciation to the moderator for allowing us to
post so much about the election.
I think John realizes it's THE topic on everyone's mind right now, and
that he's going to allow us to be off-topic for a little while.

No wonder witness Ron Fischer was able to see so much of the suspect's
body! (Chuckle)

Have you ever tried to figure out how many cops and their names who would
have to be involved in a 5th to 6th floor evidence switch? Mark
